Role Overview:
As a key contributor to the team, you will be responsible for conducting business and financial analysis, and executing strategic investment and divestment initiatives. Your scope will include, but not be limited to:
- Supporting decision-making processes for investments, divestments, asset/business acquisitions, and joint venture formations
- Conducting thorough research and analysis of industry trends, market developments, peer activity, and regulatory changes
- Implementing investment and divestment strategies aligned with corporate goals and prevailing market conditions
- Leading valuation exercises, validating financial assumptions, conducting strategic and commercial assessments, and identifying key risks
- Managing end-to-end due diligence efforts, coordinating with internal stakeholders (including asset/company management, finance, treasury, and legal teams), external advisors, and deal counterparties
- Driving transaction execution from due diligence through to final negotiations, documentation, and deal closure
- Overseeing strategic joint ventures and supporting initiatives aimed at value creation
- Preparing high-quality investment memoranda, reports, and presentations to support executive decision-making and secure transaction approvals
Qualifications & Requirements:
- A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Economics with strong academic credentials; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred. Candidates with an Engineering background combined with Business or Finance majors will also be considered
- 8–12 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, M&A, or project finance, ideally within the energy or infrastructure sectors; exposure to power or renewable energy investments is advantageous
- Deep expertise in valuation, financing structures, accounting principles, and hands-on experience with M&A due diligence and deal structuring (including SPA, SHA, and JVA negotiations)
- Strong financial and commercial acumen with robust analytical and corporate finance capabilities
- Proficiency in Mandarin is desirable; experience in the renewables sector or Chinese market is an added advantage
- A strategic thinker with keen attention to detail and a balanced approach to commercial opportunities and risk
- Self-starter with a proactive mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and a track record of delivering results under pressure
- Effective collaborator with the ability to operate both independently and in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills, culturally astute, and adept at managing projects across diverse teams with an entrepreneurial, solution-driven attitude
