Job Responsibilities:
Edit and proofread manuscripts, proofs, and other related materials for clarity, accuracy, coherence, appropriateness, and alignment with the product concept and house style.
Ensure that all scientific and mathematical content is correct, precise, and effectively communicated.
Evaluate manuscripts submitted by authors and work closely with them to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
Assist authors in ensuring that the content aligns with the intended scope and target audience while meeting quality and academic standards.
Collaborate with graphic designers and layout artists to create visually appealing and effective designs, including diagrams, charts, and overall page layout, ensuring alignment with the content and publication style.
Manage projects from manuscript submission through to publication, ensuring that deadlines are met and the editorial process flows smoothly.
Monitor and maintain the project timeline, budget, and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and minimizing delays or cost overruns.
Conduct market research to stay informed about trends and developments within the science and mathematics publishing industries.
Assist in the promotion of titles by developing strategies to target the right audience, enhancing visibility, and maximizing reach.
Perform other editorial tasks as assigned by the reporting officer to support organizational objectives
Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Science, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics or relevant fields.
Minimum 3 years in editorial or teaching.
Good knowledge of local education system, curriculum and learning pedagogies.
Knowledge of publishing processes.
Well-organised and deadline-oriented.
