R&D EE Engineer - #1093277

Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and develop electrical hardware design projects according to the development process to meet the project requirements, goals, and objective.
• Support the senior engineers in developing new ideas and new technology to improve our products by adding value for our customers.
• Continuous improvement of development methodology guided by the KANO principles. The aim is to preserve the high level of standards and design quality, synonymous to ASMPT products.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision from the senior colleagues and contribute constructively to the benefits of the EE department.
• Ensure proper documentation throughout the development process and initiate engineering change process (ECR) and other sustaining related activities in accordance with ASMPT PLM process flow.
• Involve in the assembly and testing of first article. Work closely with Module test, System Integration and Test to qualify design and implementation to ensure upmost quality standards.
• Participate actively in the sustaining of existing (released) ASMPT products throughout its entire lifecycle.
• Work closely with fellow R&D colleagues both locally and globally, supporting each other diligently in all project-related tasks and deliverables.
• Work closely with fellow colleagues from other departments like Sourcing, NPI, Production, Quality, etc to meet common objectives and goals.
• Involved in hands-on technical work, focusing on designing, implementing, and troubleshooting solutions. They might work on VHDL coding, components component selection, conducting experiments / tests, or performing analyses.
• Responsible for PSG related topics (engineering changes (ECR), design improvements, DTC, etc).
• Support the design, analysis, and development of systems, components, or products.
• Utilize your knowledge to drive innovative solutions that meet cost, performance, and reliability.
• Execute the action plan from senior engineer to troubleshoot issues or collect data for analysis.
• Apply your experience to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions for simple designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, designers, project managers, and more, to ensure that projects are executed smoothly.
• Work on projects assigned to them, meeting deadlines, and contributing to the project's success by delivering high-quality work.
• Develop and execute EE test plan and to validate designs and ensure product performance.
• Analyse test results, identify areas for improvement, and iterate on designs to achieve desired performance metrics.
• Review requirements specification and create / review necessary customer documentations.
• Ensure proper documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
• Ensure clear communication of design concept
• Support innovations and patent filings
• Ensure all electrical / electronic activities, designs, and projects adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Aware of necessary safety protocols and practices within the electrical team.
• Complete the necessary training on design and development guidelines and follow the guidelines strictly.
• Develop quality first mindset

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Knowledge in circuit design, analog and digital electronics, power electronics, and electrical wiring.
• Proficiency in using relevant design and simulation tools (e.g., PADS, ePLAN, Hyperlynx, ActiveHDL, SPICE).
• Basic knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements will be advantageous.
• Possess good problem-solving skills.
• Basic project management skills. Able to effectively to communicate at all levels.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity.
