The Edge Partnership - The Edge in Asia

My client, a manufacturing company with a global footprint, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Development professional to lead its strategic growth initiatives. This role will be responsible for driving end-to-end M&A activities — from strategy development and deal sourcing to execution and post-merger integration. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in transaction structuring, financial analysis, and stakeholder engagement, and play a key role in shaping the group’s long-term growth trajectory across international markets.

Job Description

Strategic Planning and Deal Origination

  • Formulate and execute inorganic growth strategies in alignment with long-term corporate objectives
  • Identify and assess potential investment, divestment, and partnership opportunities across relevant markets
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with external stakeholders including financial institutions, advisory firms, and industry partners to support deal origination
  • Conduct comprehensive market and competitive analyses to inform strategic decision-making

Transaction Execution and Due Diligence

  • Lead end-to-end execution of transactions, including the coordination of cross-functional due diligence efforts across financial, legal, operational, and commercial domains
  • Perform valuation assessments, financial modelling, and risk analysis to support investment decisions
  • Structure and negotiate transaction terms in consultation with internal stakeholders and external advisors
  • Ensure all transactions are executed in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner

Post-Transaction Integration and Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee integration initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic goals and realization of synergy targets
  • Develop and implement detailed post-acquisition integration frameworks, covering operational, financial, and cultural dimensions
  • Monitor post-transaction performance against defined metrics and make recommendations to optimize outcomes

Stakeholder Management and Internal Leadership

  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to internal working teams throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Communicate deal rationale, risks, and potential impacts to senior leadership and relevant governance committees
  • Partner with key departments, including Finance, Legal, Human Resources, and Operations, to ensure cohesive execution and alignment across the organisation

Requirements

  • A recognised degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; postgraduate qualifications, such as MBA will be considered favourably
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, or investment banking, with demonstrated expertise in managing complex transactions
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation proficiency across various methodologies
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory, legal, and compliance aspects of M&A transactions
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
