POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the Regional Business Development team, this role will be reporting to the Regional Vice-President, Business Development & Alliance Management. This role involves originating and executing deals (in-licensing, acquisitions, out-licensing) that covers a wide range of geographies including North Asia, South East Asia, South Asia and Oceania and across therapeutic areas, not just mid and late stage research assets and also on-market brands

You are also responsible for proactive deal scouting, leading cross-functional evaluations, managing due diligence, and constructing negotiation strategies.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing business cases in a structured manner
  • Evaluating new business development opportunities based on commercial, regulatory, market access and scientific feasibility, and strategic fit, in coordination with cross-functional teams
  • Leading due diligence process to confirm assumptions and identify mitigatable risks
  • Creating proposals and non-binding offers in a customized manner to “win” in bidding processes
  • Generating new business development opportunities via networking (existing and new), partnering meetings, industry trends and news
  • Execute or support execution of contracts in a timely, meaningful manner
  • Mentoring other Regional and Local Business Development colleagues as the senior member of the team


KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor Degree in Biomedical or Life Science preferred. Masters, especially an MBA, will be a plus
  • At least 10 years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry in any of these functions - Business Development, Strategy, Portfolio, Strategic Marketing, Business Intelligence, Analytics
  • Ability to work in a matrix structure with local, regional and global stakeholders
  • Motivated professional with strong work ethics, who can stretch tirelessly to deliver
  • Ability to quickly build trusted relationships across the organization
  • Ability to make judgments on clinical/regulatory risks and opportunities
