Lab Technician (Environmental Bioengineering) - #1092616

Job purpose:

• This role involves conducting experiment and chemical analysis work on wastewater and organic waste treatment using anaerobic digestion, anammox, and other processes, both in the laboratory and in the onsite field.

Scopes of the work:

1. Conducting experiment and analysis work on wastewater treatment and organic waste treatment technologies in the laboratory and onsite test field, with the goal of applying these technologies in Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries.

2. Managing procurement, installation, and maintenance of equipment, laboratory facility, and consumables.

Responsibilities :

• Carry out proper sampling of used water/waste samples, as well as daily operation of in-process and outgoing samples.

• Prepare media and samples for further analysis such as distillation, sample incubation, buffers preparation, digestion and any other necessary preparations for sample testing.

• Conduct analysis of pH, Total Dissolved Solid (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonium, nitrite, nitrate, and any other tests assigned by the researcher.

• Record and maintain documentation for all experiments, equipment, facility operations and maintenance, and safety-related matters

• Conduct research on relevant technical and marketing information

• Ad-hoc duties as required

Required Skill/Qualification :

• Diploma or above in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Engineering (equivalent in O Level with high experience in the relevant field to be considered)

• At least 3 years of professional working experience preferred

• Fundamental knowledge of hazardous materials and safety management

• Fundamental knowledge and skill in data arrangement and analysis

• Proficiency in English communication, including speaking, reading, and writing skills.

• Capable of working independently while also being a strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
