Role Objective
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our dynamic, high-performing legal team. As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for in-house legal matters including providing legal advice, resolving disputes, managing intellectual property related matters, and mitigating legal risks and conflicts. Your experience in a law firm, handling a wide range of corporate legal issues, will be critical to your success in this role. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with global teams and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Support: Provide legal support and render advice on the protection and promotion of the company’s business internationally.
- Documentation: Draft and negotiate commercial documentation in diverse fields to accurately set out the details of deals, and to anticipate and avoid conflicts.
- Dispute Resolution: Involved in dispute matters internationally, including managing external lawyers where required.
- Operational Advice: Advise on various aspects of the law relating to the company’s operations, including employment law.
- Intellectual Property: Advise on intellectual property rights matters, such as patent, trademark and copyright infringement and protection.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with the company’s business activities.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Qualified to practice in Singapore and/or another Common Law jurisdiction.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in a law firm, with expertise in managing both corporate and dispute-related legal matters.
- Multinational Experience: Experience representing or advising multinational companies is an advantage.
- Language Skills: Proficient in both English and Chinese to communicate effectively with international teams.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential challenges and propose appropriate solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
