As the Business Development Manager, Aero - APAC, you will play a key role in growing our presence within this dynamic market. This position is uniquely positioned to bring to bear our proven expertise, enabling you to work closely with leading OEMs and integration partners. Your mission will involve creating and implementing strategies that not only meet but exceed our ambitious growth objectives. Your efforts will directly contribute to our ability to deliver flawless communication solutions globally!
The day-to-day
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and capitalize on customer relationships with OEMs, MROs, and Integrators to improve Viasat's Aero ISR capabilities and services.
- Priorities market opportunities in alignment with our strategic goals and capability fit.
- Establish and nurture relationships with current and potential OEMs, integrators, and partners to influence future procurements.
- Develop and manage global partner agreements with OEMs to drive growth.
- Identify and close Aero SATCOM deals through optimized routes, whether through current channels, new channels, or direct provision.
- Manage and grow the Viasat International Government qualified Aero pipeline, ensuring alignment with the Leads to Order process using the SFDC toolset.
- Collaborate with the team to build compelling value propositions for Viasat Aero ISR offerings and work with the marketing team to develop high-quality customer-facing materials.
- Network with end users, platform manufacturers, partners, and attend trade shows to become a leader in Aero ISR SATCOM.
- Develop and manage relationships with supporting organizations to facilitate access to end-user customers.
- Support lobbying and regulatory activities required to advance ISR use cases.
- Develop tools and techniques to access and influence the market, and train account management teams and partners on closing Aero ISR deals.
- Find opportunities for upselling within the existing user base.
- Collaborate with other teams in Viasat International Government to provide input on product fit and development roadmaps for Aero ISR offerings.
What you'll need
Experience required:
- Proven experience of 7 to 10 years in business development, sales, or a related role within the Aero ISR industry in APAC.
- Proven track record of successful sales and partnership development with OEMs and system integrators in the aerospace and defense sector.
- Deep knowledge of the Aero ISR market, including key players, technologies, and regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing driven proposals, including R&D.
- Ability to travel.
- Strong negotiation and contract leadership skills.
