Our client, a leading quality food provider and wholesaler, is looking for suitable talents to join their growing business as Head of Procurement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Category Management
- Lead the team in executing procurement and category strategies.
- Provide sales and management teams with insights on market trends, pricing, and supplier selection.
- Collaborate with Business Development team to develop procurement plans aligned with category strategy.
- Establish clear product range strategies to meet market needs while reducing duplication.
Supplier Management
- Build strong supplier relationships to maximize business value.
- Directly engage with key suppliers alongside the procurement team.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, rebates, and marketing support.
- Conduct regular supplier reviews, incorporating feedback from sales, logistics, and QA teams.
- Ensure suppliers comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Address non-compliance issues and, if necessary, exit suppliers with minimal disruption.
Replenishment & Inventory Management
- Optimize inventory performance by minimizing stockouts and excess stock.
- Maintain target inventory levels and ensure demand planning accuracy.
- Develop KPIs for inventory performance and report progress regularly.
- Implement early identification and clearance strategies for slow-moving or short-shelf-life products.
New Product Sourcing
- Identify and assess new suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Drive new product and category development through strategic sourcing.
Best Practice Development
- Implement technology-driven improvements in procurement processes, including demand forecasting and sales planning ; Optimized buying and ordering strategies ; Supplier and customer price management.
Sales Engagement & Tenders
- Support sales teams in preparing and submitting tenders.
- Align procurement strategies with key customer offers and supplier partnerships.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Diploma / Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain or any relevant disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing, preferably within the food industry.
- Experience in managing and leading a team.
- Possess strong negotiation, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in market analysis and inventory management.

- Location: West
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, Office Hours
- Salary: Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications.
