Building Technician (Up to $2800 + Bonus, Orchard, Shopping Mall) - #1090875

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Building Technician to join our team in maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of a high-traffic shopping mall in Singapore. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance of the mall's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, lighting, escalators, elevators, water supply, and fire protection systems.
• Respond promptly to any urgent maintenance requests or issues, including troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems as necessary.
• Ensure that all building equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational performance.
• Monitor and maintain the mall's energy management system to optimize energy efficiency and reduce utility costs.
• Perform basic repairs and upkeep of common areas such as restrooms, corridors, lobbies, and exterior premises.
• Manage and coordinate with contractors or external vendors for specialized maintenance work, including cleaning, pest control, and more.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and building codes.
• Perform daily checks of safety equipment, including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repair logs, and work orders.
• Assist in managing mall facilities during events, promotions, or peak shopping times, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
• Report and escalate any significant issues to the Facilities Manager or Supervisor in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in building maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a commercial or retail setting.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) and maintenance practices.
• Basic understanding of safety regulations and standards in Singapore.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with mall tenants, customers, and management.
• A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
