About the role
The American Club of Singapore is seeking a full-time Accounts Executive [GL] to join our team i In this role, you will be responsible for the General Ledger, work closely with the Accounts Payable (AP) function and support the Senior Accounts Manager in management and statutory reporting activities.
Job Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Accounts Payable functions of the Club (AP – Accounts Executive and Accounts Officer).
• Prepare monthly Journal Vouchers, including but not limited to: accrual of utilities and audit expense, bad debt provision, cost transfer of internal X-account transactions, redemption of Prepaid Packages, accrual of commission payable, monthly revenue transfers and adjustments, recognition of income and expenses relating to investments, transfer of GST payable/receivable to GST control account.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of members’ Prepaid Packages vs GL.
• Conduct an annual review of members’ Prepaid Packages, to determine if the expired packages should be written off.
• Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly management accounts and related reports, e.g. MBA Report, Member Dashboard.
• Prepare monthly Balance Sheet Schedules for Sundry Income and investment-related accounts.
• Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliation for the Club’s UOB bank account.
• Maintain an up-to-date fixed assets register to ensure that all additions, disposals, reclassification and movement of fixed assets are properly accounted for and tally with GL.
• Print and distribute fixed assets tags for newly purchased assets, and act as the point of contact for Auditors during the annual fixed asset sighting.
• Maintain an updated GL Chart of Accounts.
• Prepare the quarterly GST returns for submission to IRAS.
• Support the Senior Accounts Manager in preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts, banking and investment matters.
• Support the Director of Finance and Senior Accounts Manager in cash flow planning and budgeting.
• Act as a relief for the Senior Accounts Manager in her absence.
• Participate in the month-end stock take at designated outlets.
• Any other ad-hoc duties.
Job Requirement
- Min. Diploma / Degree in Accounting
- Min 3 – 5 years of experience in handling Accounts Payable in the hospitality industry.
- At least 3 – 5 years in maintaining full set of account
- Proficient in accounting principles.
- Proficient in local tax legislations and concepts.
- Familiar with the Accounts Payable function.
- Proficient in relevant computer applications - MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets and database management tools
- Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A team player.
