Utilities & Facilities Engineering Technician, Singapore
As an Utilities & Facilities Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for operation and maintenance of all utilities, water, HVAC and various facilities equipment including fire protection system. This includes troubleshooting, repairment and contractor management in a manufacturing plant. You will report directly to Utilities, Facilities and Sustainability Manager.
Lastly, nothing is worth getting hurt for, all members of the business are expected to be safety leaders. You will always uphold and maintain a safe working environment especially handling dangerous goods. Wearing appropriate PPE and following related procedures to ensure safety of themselves and others.
The Position:
- Operates utility equipment such as boiler, air compressor, RTO, chillers, cooling tower, hot water and wastewater plant.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment with required technical skills and adopted safety-first-mindset (including food safety).
- Ensure proper permit to work system is exercised during work process.
- Perform activities related to pest management, janitor management, fire protection system wastewater management, building maintenance, electrical distribution, air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV) and utility assets.
- Actively participate and contribute to Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) continuous improvement.
- Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on equipment
- Ensure work processes are adhered with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance.
- Identify and manage Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) spare parts inventory maintained in stores.
- Complete work orders and related documentation such as equipment history, spare parts consumed and balance on hand in stores via CMMS.
- Field contractor supervision to ensure safety and quality of work done.
- Actively participate in development of work instructions and root cause failure studies.
- Lead and execute CAPEX projects with minimum supervision.
- Other engineering/administrative tasks assigned by Engineer or Manager.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Diploma or Higher NITEC in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation or relevant fields.
- At least 5 years of working experience in relevant manufacturing industry.
- Boiler Attendant Certified
- A strong team player, independent, driven and accountable.
- Detailed oriented, proactive nature, adopted safety first mindset
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Equipped with problem-solving skills and good contractor management skills
