Job Summary;
We are seeking a motivated IT & Network Intern with a solid foundation in computer networks and intermediate IT skills. The successful candidate will support the maintenance of IT tasks such as; CCTV network infrastructure and assist with various ad hoc IT tasks on PUB sites. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in networking, electrical engineering, SCADA systems, PLC programming, and related technical disciplines. A willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- CCTV & Network Maintenance:
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the CCTV network infrastructure.
- Perform regular system checks and software updates to ensure optimal performance.
- Knowledge of network devices, with the ability to at least learn or know how to configure them through CLI and etc
- Ad Hoc IT Support:
- Assist with daily IT tasks including installation, configuration, and repair of hardware and software systems.
- Provide support for network-related issues, helping resolve connectivity and performance problems.
- Technical Assistance in Engineering Projects:
- Collaborate with the electrical engineering team to support basic tasks such as wiring, testing, and maintenance of systems.
- Assist with SCADA and PLC-related tasks, including simple programming and system configuration adjustments.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain clear and accurate records of maintenance activities, troubleshooting steps, and technical procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports on system performance and issues encountered.
- Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices in IT, networking, and industrial control systems.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops as required.
Required Qualifications
- Educational Background:
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of computer networks (LAN/WAN, network protocols, basic troubleshooting).
- Basic to Intermediate IT knowledge across operating systems, software applications, and hardware maintenance.
- Basic familiarity with CCTV systems and network surveillance setups is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a willingness to learn.
- Proficiency in the English Language (Hard Requirement)
Preferred Skills and Experience(Soft Requirements)
- Electrical & Industrial Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and circuit analysis.
- Exposure to SCADA systems, PLC programming, or industrial control systems.
- Programming:
- Experience in a programming language (e.g., Python, C/C++, or similar) to support automation tasks or ladder logic programming etc.
- Additional IT Skills:
- Knowledge of network security principles and understandings of how networks work
- Knowledge of network devices, with the ability to at least learn or know how to configure them through CLI and etc
