Environmental Health and Safety Officer - #1089841

Job description: 

• Lead the site safety team and ensure the effective development, review, revision, maintenance, and implementation of the site’s Workplace Safety & Health Management System to effectively manage risks and reduce accidents.
• Investigate all incidents on-site and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Review and update risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Possess in-depth knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
• Enforce safety standards in line with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and relevant provisions.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
• Conduct regular WSH inspections and audits to ensure staff and subcontractors comply with safety policies and standards.
• Identify and alert relevant stakeholders of any machinery, equipment, processes, or activities that pose a risk of injury, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit safety documents to clients, main contractors, or the WSH Corporate Department.
• Foster a strong WSH culture within the company.
• Ensure the fire protection system and Emergency Response Team management system are adequate, effective, and ready for use in both office and factory environments.
• Promote safe and healthy working conditions through education, awareness campaigns, training, drills, contests, and other activities.
• Liaise with statutory bodies on WSH-related licenses and permits, staying updated on the latest regulations and waste management requirements.
• Provide fire and safety training to employees.
• Regularly update management on WSH performance and the ongoing improvement plans.
• Collaborate with third-party security service providers to ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of their services.
• Continuously apply the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) approach to WSH matters, ensuring the continuous improvement and upgrading of the plant’s WSH Management System.

Job requirement: 

• Registered as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
• Over 3 years of experience working as a WSHO.
• Registered WSHOs with less than 3 years of experience will be considered for the Junior WSHO role.
• Possess a relevant qualification in Workplace Safety and Health or Engineering.
