Job description:
- Lead the site safety team and ensure the effective development, review, revision, maintenance, and implementation of the site’s Workplace Safety & Health Management System to effectively manage risks and reduce accidents.
- Investigate all incidents on-site and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Review and update risk assessments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations.
- Enforce safety standards in line with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and relevant provisions.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
- Conduct regular WSH inspections and audits to ensure staff and subcontractors comply with safety policies and standards.
- Identify and alert relevant stakeholders of any machinery, equipment, processes, or activities that pose a risk of injury, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit safety documents to clients, main contractors, or the WSH Corporate Department.
- Foster a strong WSH culture within the company.
- Ensure the fire protection system and Emergency Response Team management system are adequate, effective, and ready for use in both office and factory environments.
- Promote safe and healthy working conditions through education, awareness campaigns, training, drills, contests, and other activities.
- Liaise with statutory bodies on WSH-related licenses and permits, staying updated on the latest regulations and waste management requirements.
- Provide fire and safety training to employees.
- Regularly update management on WSH performance and the ongoing improvement plans.
- Collaborate with third-party security service providers to ensure the effectiveness and appropriateness of their services.
- Continuously apply the plan-do-check-act (PDCA) approach to WSH matters, ensuring the continuous improvement and upgrading of the plant’s WSH Management System.
Job requirement:
- Registered as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Over 3 years of experience working as a WSHO.
- Registered WSHOs with less than 3 years of experience will be considered for the Junior WSHO role.
- Possess a relevant qualification in Workplace Safety and Health or Engineering.
