Summary:

This Assistant Vice President reports to the Vice President, Total Rewards and the role is instrumental in implementing, and managing the organization's compensation and benefits programs. This encompasses conducting comprehensive market analyses, administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of compensation and benefits trends, a strong analytical mindset, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Compensation:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct regular market analyses and salary surveys to benchmark compensation practices and ensure competitiveness.
  • Job Evaluation: Evaluate jobs and assign appropriate salary grades using established methodologies (e.g., Mercer IPE).
  • Salary Proposals: Develop competitive salary proposals for new hires, particularly for senior roles, considering internal equity and market data.
  • Salary Adjustments: Review and approve off-cycle salary adjustments as needed, ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies.
  • Salary Structure: Design and maintain a fair and equitable salary structure that aligns with the company's business strategy and market trends, when needed.
  • Performance and Salary Review: Lead the annual performance and salary review process, including developing guidelines, merit matrices, and communication materials.
  • Bonus Administration: Calculate and administer annual bonuses based on performance metrics and company policies.
  • Employment Contracts: Draft employment contracts for senior roles, incorporating appropriate compensation and benefits terms.
  • Executive Compensation: Assist in the design and administration of executive compensation programs, including long-term incentives.
  • Compensation and Benefits Payments: Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation and benefits payments.
  • Budgeting: Participate in the annual budgeting process, forecasting compensation and benefits costs and tracking actual spending.

 

Benefits:

  • Benefits Administration: Administer and manage the company's employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits.
  • Benefits Communication: Work with vendors to effectively communicate benefits information to employees, ensuring they understand their options and how to utilize them.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with benefits vendors, including insurance brokers and third-party administrators.
  • Claims Resolution: Assist employees with benefits claims and inquiries, liaising with vendors as needed.
  • Open Enrollment: Coordinate the annual open enrollment process, providing employees with guidance and support.
  • Wellness Programs: Develop and implement wellness programs to promote employee health and well-being.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits.
  • Expatriate Compensation and Benefits: Manage compensation and benefits for expatriate employees, including housing, schooling, and tax equalization.
  • People Analytics: Contribute to the development of people analytics dashboards and reports, providing insights to support HR decision-making.
  • Compensation Committee Support: Prepare materials and provide support for Compensation Committee meetings.
  • Internal and External Audits: Assist with internal and external audits related to compensation and benefits.
  • Corporate Governance: Contribute to the preparation of corporate governance reports and annual reports as they pertain to compensation.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of solid experience in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Deep understanding of compensation and benefits principles, practices, and trends.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google and HRIS systems.
  • CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or CBP (Certified Benefits Professional) designation preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
