Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute innovative procurement strategies to enhance merchandise pipelines, ensuring alignment with PlayMade’s brand identity (e.g., collectibles, limited-edition items, or promotional products akin to Blind Boxes etc).
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers on platforms like Taobao, Alibaba, and AliExpress, prioritizing cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.
• Proactively identify merchandise trends that resonate with PlayMade’s customer segments and translate insights into actionable procurement plans.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers (mandarin and/or english speaking ones), ensuring smooth communication and collaboration.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to design and launch cohesive merchandise campaigns that drive customer engagement and loyalty.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage end-to-end procurement processes, including logistics, import/export compliance, and timely delivery.
• Analyze competitor activities and market developments to optimize procurement strategies and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements:
• Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields.
• Minimum 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in F&B, retail, or manufacturing, with a focus on merchandise innovation (e.g., promotional items, collectibles).
• Fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken) to negotiate and build relationships with Chinese suppliers.
• Proven expertise in e-commerce procurement via platforms like Taobao, Alibaba, and AliExpress.
• Strong track record in trend analysis, supplier sourcing, and contract management, with creativity to align products with brand vision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software; familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of import/export regulations and experience managing international logistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in product development or merchandise strategies that enhance customer loyalty.
• Passion for F&B/retail trends and understanding of Gen Z/millennial consumer behavior.
