Merchandiser / Assortment Planner (Financial) - 6 mths contract // Pasir Panjang - #1089332

Job Description:

• Develop retail sales, margin, and inventory plans for consumer architecture, full-price and off-price lines of business, and merchandise financial plans for company.
• Determine pre-season and in-season top-down financial business targets.
• Create and manage seasonal open-to-buy forecasts (sales, inventory, margin) against plan/target.
• Make monthly adjustments to merchandise financial plans based on retailers’ future plans, targets, and actuals, including scorecard tracking and cross-functional collaboration.
• Reconcile assortment plans with merchandise financial plans and align them to consumer architecture.
• Identify potential opportunities and risks in the business against sales and inventory plans; develop actionable recommendations.
• Determine cross-marketplace business unit trade-offs to drive consumer demand, margin, and optimize overall marketplace inventory health.
• Drive collaboration and include input from key stakeholders (Assortment Planning, Finance, Analytics, Inventory Operations, Marketing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Merchandising) on financial plans.

Job Requirements:

• Degree (e.g., Bachelor’s) in Business or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant retail experience in merchandising buying, business, or demand planning.
• Ability to interpret financial sales data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business, with a comprehensive understanding of retail math.
• Strong and demonstrated ability to simplify complex concepts and communicate effectively.
• Strong influencing skills and ability to champion complex projects both cross-functionally and vertically within the organization.
• Strong cross-team collaboration skills; inspire high levels of engagement, trust, and collaboration across a matrix environment with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Intellectual curiosity, able to think creatively and offer fresh ideas, while being comfortable working in an ambiguous environment.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications; proficiency in Excel, including creating spreadsheets, complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.
• Experience with planning software/tools and merchandise management systems is preferred.
