About New Ventures

EDB New Ventures is the venture building arm of EDB. Our aim is to support the creation and scaling of high potential new ventures from Singapore to become globally leading businesses. To do so, we partner companies for their corporate venturing journeys and supporting established global founders as they build their next ventures from Singapore. We are also building founder platforms that foster greater exchanges between founders and accelerate the growth of high potential ventures.

We are looking for a Manager to join our New Ventures team to support the strategy and execution for our venturing efforts. This role includes relationship management, international marketing and partnerships, and community engagement. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams across multiple teams in EDB, to translate our work into business outcomes. Our community of founders and ventures is highly international and cuts across a diverse range of sectors, such as AI, deep tech, health care.

[What you will be working on]

You will be responsible for executing the end-to-end strategy of attracting and supporting experienced founders to build new ventures in Singapore. This multi-faceted role requires adaptability in managing various internal and external stakeholders, developing programmes for the founder community and engaging in deep engagements with individual ventures to support their growth.

Some of your tasks include, but are not limited to:

International marketing and partnerships

  • Work with international partners to execute campaigns, events, programmes and platforms, to increase awareness of Singapore as a destination for experienced founders to build new ventures and grow the pipeline of experienced founders This includes strategic partner assessment, planning and execution, and performance tracking to ensure impactful outcomes
  • Develop marketing assets for a range of channels (e.g. website, social, email), working with agencies where necessary, to feature founders, ventures and initiatives.

Community engagement

  • Build and nurture an engaged community by onboarding new members, maintaining members database to record founder and venture information and tracking key metrics
  • Lead execution of events, including RSVP coordination, venue and F&B selection, and on-site support
  • Onboard members and maintain members database to record founder and venture information and track community engagement metrics
  • Track and analyse event and partnership performance, providing insights to optimise future initiatives
  • Support management of early-stage ventures and programmes to create opportunities for their growth and success.

Business Development

  • Support relationship managers to attract and support international founders to build ventures in Singapore. This includes:
    • Conducting in-depth research on founder backgrounds and industries
    • Supporting the development and tailoring of founder engagement initiatives
[What we are looking for]

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role for business development and/or relationship management and/or marketing and/or community management, preferably from a Venture Capital firm, startup or accelerator
  • Excellent track record in at least 1 of the following:
    • B2B marketing, partnerships or event management
    • B2B sales, account management or business development
  • A strong interest and passion for venture growth, marketing, community engagement, and ecosystem building
  • Resourceful with a self-starter mindset and positive work attitude
  • Adaptable and be a strong team player in an agile environment
  • Confidence in engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organisational, project management and analytical skills
  • Able to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing skills and experience in crafting clear and compelling content
  • Conversational business Mandarin would be a plus
  • Proficiency with design software (e.g. Adobe, Canva) and email marketing tools (e.g. HubSpot) will be a plus
  • Singaporean
