Technician (Advanced NDT) - #1087418

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated NDT Technician (Advanced) to support our NDT operations. This position involves assisting Senior Staff in performing advanced non-destructive testing procedures, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to testing standards. The technician will follow instructions from Supervisors and Senior Staff, manage the necessary equipment, and ensure that all testing is conducted efficiently, safely, and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting & Preparation:

• Report to work as instructed by the Supervisor. (Please note that reporting times may vary depending on the job request.)
• Receive and verify the Test Request Form from the Supervisor or Senior Staff to confirm the test requirements (quantity, description, etc.).
• Collect required testing equipment from the Supervisor and ensure the working condition of the equipment is checked, along with confirming calibration validity and all other relevant data before mobilization.
• Prepare and verify all necessary test chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE) for the assigned test.

Test Procedure & Site Mobilization:

• Ensure that the correct test procedure, standards, and acceptance criteria are available and understood prior to mobilization to the site.
• Follow transport mode instructions provided by the Supervisor/Senior Staff to ensure timely arrival at the site as per the client’s schedule.
• Upon arrival at the site, ensure that all items required for testing are in order, and confirm that the testing environment is safe and suitable for the assigned test, addressing any potential safety issues.

Test Execution & Quality Assurance:

• Assist Senior Staff in performing tests according to established codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Ensure the quality and quantity of tests are in compliance, with no complaints or negative feedback from the client or their representatives.

Post-Test & Equipment Maintenance:

• After completing the test, follow the transport mode instructions to return to the main office or facility, as directed by the Supervisor/Senior Staff.
• Clean and return all testing equipment to the Supervisor/Senior Staff after use, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.

Ad-Hoc Duties:

• Assist with any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Senior Staff.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
• Experience: Prior experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is preferred, with hands-on experience in testing equipment and procedures.
• Certifications: ASNT Level I or II certification in NDT is preferred (or equivalent certifications).
• Skills:
  • Familiarity with NDT techniques and testing equipment.
  • Good knowledge of safety protocols, test procedures, and standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Those with Class 3 Driving License preferred
