Technical Support Officer – Greenhouse and Agritech - #1087225

Working Location: Woodlands

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 530pm

Salary: Gross up to $2500 per month

Contract: 5 months

Responsibilities:

• Support the operation and facilities of Greenhouse, Glasshouse and Agriculture Technology Labs which house various plant growth systems such as vertical plane cultivation systems, nutrient film technique systems, hydroponics systems, Mobile Gully System, dutch bucket, growbag, rolling bench, etc.
• Responsible with plant handling, seeding, harvesting, monitoring and controlling plant nutrition
• Monitoring the health of all plants, watering, trimming and fertilizing
• Monitor greenhouse and glasshouse environment and system conditions in assisting with collection of environmental and production data
• Maintain equipment and tools
• Liaise with external vendors for facility and equipment maintenance
• Inventory taking of plants, facility's consumables and equipment
• Administrative duties like processing lab requests and purchasing items
• Prepare practical teaching materials for projects, practicals, workshops and events.
• Assist to conduct guided tour for visitors to the facilities.
• Work on weekends or Public Holidays to resolve issues within the facility when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Horticulture/Agricultural/Agricultural Science/Urban Agricultural Technology
• Experience with outdoor farming, mushroom cultivation and cricket farming is a bonus
• Good to have mechanical skills
• A team player who is flexible and adaptable in his/her approach of work
