Senior Mechanical Engineer (Automotive Engineering) - #1087098

JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

• Responsible for product design & product development
• Lead and execute design projects from concept stage to prototype completion including the establishment and maintenance of product specifications & product costing.
• Responsible to create optimised product design using 3D modelling software (Solidworks/Creo)
• Perform engineering calculations and provide technical support regarding current and new designs and evaluate products for appropriate physical properties and performance.
• Design project deliverables include; product conceptualization and design, prototyping/testing, design for manufacturability, production preparation and product costing.
• Produce high quality 3D drawings for manufacturing & assembly
• Produce Manufacturing process work instructions, manual & quality control instructions
• Create & maintain accurate Manufacturing Bill of Materials, develop cost- estimates for manufacturing process hours, write new product specifications, and provide manufacturing support as required.
• Manage Product costing & provide support to sales.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Min Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience working in an Automotive, Manufacturing, Machine shop, assembly environment or similar environment
• Experience in performing engineering design and analysis and the development of 3-D solid models utilizing Solid Works/ Inventor/ CREO
• A thorough understanding of engineering design principles and material processing
• Experience in Bill of Materials from either the Automotive, Aerospace or Rail industries
• If you have considerable experience of the automotive industry in an engineering Release & Change environment is an advantage
• If you understand automotive terminology, familiar with vehicle systems & components and the sequence of build of a vehicle is an advantage
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Familiar with ISO 9001 or TS 16949 Quality Management System
• Experience in ERP applications will be an added advantage.
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing principles, including Continuous Improvements
• Good communication skills, highly efficient, passion for engineering.
