Mizuho Bank is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join a newly formed team to manage compliance risk for the Asia-Pacific region. The APAC Compliance Chief of Staff Office will support the APAC Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in managing and coordinating the regional compliance programme.

Mizuho Bank is seeking an experienced compliance professional to join a newly formed team to manage compliance risk for the Asia-Pacific region. The APAC Compliance Chief of Staff Office will support the APAC Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in managing and coordinating the regional compliance programme.
Key responsibilities
- Support and assist the APAC CCO and APAC Compliance Chief of Staff in both “change the bank” and “run the bank” activities, tasks and deliverables
- Support and assist in the design, development, delivery and execution of best in class compliance framework and programme
- Support compliance transformation programme development and execution, and prepare communication and status updates to stakeholders
- Support the identification, assessment and management of key compliance risks across the region
- Assist in driving regional consistency and minimum standards
- Support in the oversight of the country compliance teams and the execution of the compliance programme in APAC
- Provide support and guidance to country compliance teams
- Build strong and effective relationships with stakeholders across different functions and countries
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- At least 8 to 10 years’ experience in compliance, legal or other controls related function in the financial services industry
- Knowledge and expertise in the design and implementation of compliance programmes
- Highly motivated team player
- Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal) and people skills, ability to influence and collaborate with people across different cultures and backgrounds
- Adaptable, resilient and passionate about making a difference
- Subject matter expert, experience dealing with complex issues, forward-looking, solutions-oriented, ability to be “hands-on”
- Prior experience in roles with regional coverage an advantage
- Strong Microsoft skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
